Ronald F. Gari is an Associate of the Southern California based law
firm of David Lee Rice, A Professional Law Corporation which concentrates
its practice in the areas of Taxation and Elder Care law. For the
firm, he provides legal services and counsel to its clients in the
areas of Civil and Business Litigation, Probate, Trust and Elder
Financial Abuse Litigation and Transactional work.
During his professional legal career, which spans more than two
decades, Mr. Gari’s primary focus as a litigator has been
in the areas of Bad Faith Insurance, Products Liability, Environmental
Litigation and General Civil Litigation. His expertise in the insurance
industry led to him testifying as an expert before the California
Senate subcommittee hearing on past abuses in the non-admitted insurance
market and to offer his opinion on proposed legislation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gari has served as primary counsel on
several high profile cases ranging from a complex insurance fraud
litigation case (“Rebuild L.A”) involving the Asian
Pacific America Legal Community organization, which centered on
the civil unrest caused by the Rodney King verdict, wherein he worked
closely with Former Mayor Tom Bradley and spearheaded the successful
efforts to recover millions of dollars in insurance benefits for
small business owners, to his handling of several toxic tort cases
encompassed in the litigation made famous in the motion picture,
“Erin Brockovich.” In addition, he has been lead counsel
on numerous complex Federal Court cases which involved potential
damages in the hundreds of million dollars.
Prior to joining the Rice law firm, Mr. Gari’s professional
legal career included service to three Los Angeles law firms: Brobeck,
Phleger & Harrison; Chapin, Fleming, McNitt, Shea & Carter;
and Shea, Stokes & Carter. He also served on the legal staff
of Chevron Products Company.
Mr. Gari is licensed to practice before all California courts and
the Central and Eastern Districts of the United States District
Court.
A native of Flushing, NY, Mr. Gari relocated to California and
attended California State University at Northridge where he received
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He subsequently
obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Glendale University College
of Law.
